A six-year-old spaniel has been successfully rescued by daring RNLI volunteers after jumping over a sea cliff and becoming stranded on a rock.
Stacey Chadfield was taking a coastal walk in Angelsey, north Wales, on a familiar route she had walked 'millions' of time yesterday when her beloved pet Ember 'decided to jump over a wall' and landed 'right into the sea below'.
Ms Chadfield said: 'You all know Ember is my baby, my whole world, she is my soul dog. She decided to jump over a wall after her ball that just happened to be a little bit too high.
'A couple saw her jump in and told me, I didn't see her, hear her. She had swam back and managed to get on a ledge below where I was stood, but then found herself stuck and too scared to get off.'
Describing how she 'catastrophised' and 'totally feared the worst' for Ember, Ms Chadfield quickly raced across to the nearby Moelfre Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) station for help, with the team quick to assist her in the urgent rescue effort.
Dramatic video footage shows the moment the heroic volunteers, Gaz and Vince, clambered down the cliff rocks to meet the distressed dog, with one shouting: 'Come on Ember, come on', while Ember barks in the background.

At a later point, one of the crew members insists to the other: 'Once she's been past you a couple times she'll realise you're not going to harm her.'
The two RNLI members eventually managed to calm Ember down, reattaching her to a lead before swimming her back to safety where she was eventually reunited with Ms Chadfield.
Praising the 'patient' RNLI crew, Ms Chadfield added: 'We were so lucky to be right across from the lifeboat station so I ran over and asked for help, where the amazing guys waded out in their suits and went to collect her.
'They were so patient with her, taking their helmets off to gain her trust and coax her over and then even jumped in the water with her and swam back.
'Sooooo so so grateful to them for everything they did, they even saved her ball. They were really kind and understanding and just absolutely amazing! Support your RNLI'.
Describing the rescue mission as a 'rather eventful afternoon', RNLI Moelfre said: 'When it comes to a shout, we usually write our own post, but Stacey has written from the heart, so here is her account of a rather eventful afternoon.
'Vince, Gaz and the rest of us at RNLI Moelfre are glad there was a happy ending.'

Social media users were quick to express their relief at Ember's safe return, alongside praise the 'amazing' RNLI team for their incredible efforts
Further detailing the events of the successful rescue, RNLI Coxswain, Vince Jones said: ‘As we entered the water near the cliff, we could hear the dog yapping away.
‘Where the spaniel was trapped, it would have been inaccessible from the cliff top so kitted in our drysuits and lifejackets we entered the water and made our way onto the ledge.
‘After a few moments of talking to Ember, she seemed to calm down and we were able to get a lead on.
‘It was great to then reunite the spaniel with her owner.
‘The owner did the right thing by coming to the lifeboat station and alerting us. Our advice is to never go in after your pet and to call 999 and ask for the Coastguard. Always keep them on lead when near the edge of cliffs or piers.’

Meanwhile, one dog lover, who said they would have been 'beside' themselves if they found themselves in a similar situation remarked: 'So glad all ended well. What a lucky pupster.'
Further praising the RNLI, another user remarked: 'So glad that all turned out well. The RNLI ARE greatly under recognised for the work they do and the danger they also put themselves in. Well done them.'
Entirely ran by volunteers, the RNLI provide, on call, 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue services, alongside a seasonal lifeguard service.
In 2022, the RNLI rescued 164 dogs from around the UK's coastline, including from the waves, with the charitable service continuing to advise that owners remain cautious when walking their dogs along beaches.
